The knife is nicely engraved on both side of the blade. It is made of steel, iron and horn. The knife is in good condition. The blade edge and engravings are nice.
One of the pulleys has a piece missing. Three of the Holophane shades are in excellent condition and match in color. This lamp has several adjustable positions and is balanced with a heavy counter weight.

eBay Chinese Long Jian sword with well tempered blade. This sword measures 36” in total length. The long grip is wrapped in rayskin. the pommel, ferrule and guard are brass. The blade has a square block setion at the forte before the blade starts having a median ridge that runs to the point. The blade slopes away from the median ridge to the edge. The blade has oxidation throughout and may have been plated at one point in its life. Many Chinese long jian from this period, circa 1890-1920, had nickeled blades and many of those blades were made of well tempered steel. This blade is well tempered. It holds a nice vibration when you tap the pommel. The scabbard has a wood core and then is covered in strips of paper or leather with metal wires wound between the strips. Some of the metal wires are poking up. The scabbard mounts are brass. A nice long Jian with well tempered and balanced blade. Please email with any questions.
